Oregon St. has moved the date of their season opening football game against Weber St., which will be the beginning of the Gary Andersen era, to Friday night, Sept. 4. Kickoff is set for 5 PM.
This will be brutal for fans, now forced to taking time off on a work day, and faced with traffic and parking problems on a work day on campus, so plan ahead. WAY Ahead. Tailgating will be severely curtailed due to the logistics.
The change also means 2 Friday night games in September, with the already scheduled Pac-12 opener against Stanford coming at some time Friday evening Sept. 25, and 3 Friday games this coming season, as the Civil War at Autzen will also be a Friday game. That's 1/4 of all games, and 1/3 of home games, not even on Saturdays. And only 2 home games on Saturday before November.
