At least those members of the heavily rebuilt Oregon St. roster that were there last year in Surprise, AZ, when Michigan St. came from behind with 2 runs in the top of the 9th for an 8-7 upset win in the Big 10-Pac-12 Challenge Tournament, will.
The Beavers and Spartans both come into the second day of the season, and the second game of the Surprise Tournament at 1 PM AST (Noon PST), at 1-0, after opening day wins.
Oregon St. kicked off the tournament with a 2-1 win over Northwestern, on a bases loaded walk off balk call, and then Michigan St. broke open what as a 3-3 contest with New Mexico heading to the 8th inning with 6 runs in the Spartans' last 2 at bats, pulling away for the 9-3 win.
Oregon St. will send transfer junior RHP Travis Eckert to the mound for his first start as a Beaver, while Michigan will counter with LHP Cam Vieau.
Eckert was 10-1 with a 1.20 ERA at Clark Community College in Washington last year.
It will be an "OSU Creme" kind of day today.
Today's lineup sees Billy King continue to get to DH, after being effective when inserted yesterday. Logan Ice gets a rest, at least initially, with Dane Lund catching, and hitting in the second slot.
Oregon St. head coach Pat Casey continues his auditions for corner outfielders, with sophomores Scotland Church and Kyle Nobach getting their shot at starting today. Freshman Christian Donahue is still at second, though.

There is no tv or video stream, and due to this afternoon's Oregon St. basketball game at USC, not all of the Oregon St. radio network will carry the game, even on an alternate channel, though it will be on 620 AM in Portland, and in the Valley, on KLOO 1340 AM instead of the usual 1240 KEJO home of the Beavers.
The live audio stream can be found here.
