Oregon St. and Portland conclude their annual 3 game triangular series, with the neutral field game, played at Volcanoe's Stadium, the San Francisco Giants' "A" affiliate's home field, in Keizer, OR, located about midway between the two campuses. Oregon St. is the designated home team for this game.
The Beavers won both the meetings previously this season, 5-0 at Goss Stadium back on March 4, and then 9-6 on the Bluff in Portland on April 1, and have won the last 20 games in a row in the series with the Pilots.
Oregon St. comes in rolling, having won 11 in a row, and 18 of their last 20.
Portland, which has only a home West Coast Conference series against BYU left to their regular season after tonight, did win their last game, a 6-5 11 inning comeback victory over Pacific in the last game of the series against the Tigers Sunday. But the Pilots lost 4 in a row, and 9 of 11, before that.
But the extra inning comeback win, something the Beavers know about, shows the Pilots are still playing, and not just playing out the schedule. They did lose only 3-2 to Oregon last Wednesday.
Being a mid-week game, both teams will make a game time decision about who to start tonight.
