With numerous players leaving the program Oregon St. has the need, and the open scholarships, to add a transfer player, and they have now received word that Nick Faust, who played the last 3 seasons at Maryland, is planning to transfer to Oregon St.

Faust has also shared his intentions with ESPN and CBS Sports.

Faust's status is apparently somewhat murky, as far as whether he will have to set out 1 season, as some/most anticipate, while others have suggested he may become immediately eligible next season to use his 1 remaining season.

Faust has his release from Maryland, and NCAA rules normally require a transfer to set out a year, but there have been exceptions (see Oregon St. transfer QB Luke Del Rio for an example) beyond the familiar one for players who have graduated of late.

Faust is a 6'6" guard, 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game for the Terrapins, and only had 1.8 turnovers per game.

Against Oregon St. in November, Faust had 6 points and 6 rebounds in 36 minutes in a 90-83 Beaver win.

If Faust can play this coming season, he will probably be a part of a 3 guard system for Oregon St. Craig Robinson, along with returners Malcolm Duvivier and Langston Morris-Walker, as well as JC transfer Gary Payton II (not Jr.), and freshman Chai Baker. All 4 have at least 2 remaining seasons of eligibility, so the same rotation scenario could exist in 2015-16.
