Oregon State Ranked #2 In Preseason Baseball Poll

The first Baseball America collegiate baseball poll of the year is out (Baseball America is the 1 of the 5 polls we follow as our "primary" ranking), and Oregon St. opens at #2, behind only Virginia. It's the highest the Beavers have ever been ranked in the preseason.

Indiana is #3, as high as any Big Ten team has ever opened the season, and Fullerton St. is #4. with North Carolina St. rounding out the top 5.

Oregon is #11, and defending National Champion UCLA is #12 (the Bruins lost 2 of 3 weekend starters), the only other west coast teams in the initial rankings.

Perfect Game has also released their preseason top 25, also with Virginia at the top. PG has Fullerton #2, and the Beavers #3, with UCLA at #8 and Oregon #9.

Collegiate Baseball released their preseason ranking back in December, with Fullerton #1, Oregon St. #4, Oregon #6, UCLA #15, and Arizona St. #22. CB goes all the way to #40.

Baseball starts in 18 days, when the Beavers opens up in Tempe, in the Goodyear Tournament against northwest rival Gonzaga.
