California Takes On Oregon St. On A Sunny Saturday At The Ballpark

Michael Conforto has had at least 1 RBI in Oregon St.'s last 4 games. If he can continue his clutch hitting, the Beavers could doom California to a losing road trip this weekend.

The Beavers and Bears continue their Pac-12 series, and their enjoyment of exquisite weather, this afternoon at Goss Stadium. A sell-out crowd will be on hand, with all seats except game day turn-backs sold earlier in the week.

Oregon St. took the opener 6-1 Friday night, behind a 3 hit performance by Matt Boyd, aided by a 3 RBI double by Ryan Barnes, and 2 RBIs by Michael Conforto.

Oregon St.'s usual Saturday starter, freshman RHP Andrew Moore (8-1, 1.54) will deliver the first pitch. Moore was masterful last Saturday, allowing only 5 hits while going 8 2/3 innings before handing the ball over to Tony Bryant for the last 4 outs of the Beavers' 3-0 shutout of USC.

California will counter with junior RHP Trevor Hildenberger (5-2, 4.39). Hildenberger had a strong showing last Saturday too, allowing Washington only 4 hits and 1 run in the first 7 innings of the Bears' 8-1 win in Seattle.

Coach Pat Casey has again fiddled with the lineup, moving Danny Hayes up to the #5 spot:

Tyler Smith-SS

Andy Peterson-2B

Michael Conforto-LF

Dylan Davis-RF

Danny Hayes-1B
