Oregon St. has added their 4th commit to their 2013 football recruiting class. Jermel Walker, a 3-star wide receiver prospect according to both Scout.com and Rivals.com, will be coming to the Beavers from Rancho Cucamonga High, which, naturally enough, is in Ranch Cucamonga, CA.
Walker is 6'1", and 175 lbs., and is the third wide receiver Oregon St. coach Mike Riley has signed so far, joining Jordan Villamin and Victor Bolden, who is Walker's teammate at Rancho Cucamonga, at the position.
Here's his highlights:
Walker also had offers from Utah of the Pac-12, Minnesota of the Big 10, plus Nevada and Utah St., as well as Houston.
Walker helped the Cougars to an 11-2 season in 2011, good for second place in the California Baseline Conference. Rancho Cucamonga advanced to the semifinals of the California Inland (Division II) playoffs.
Oregon St. is clearly focusing on restocking the wide receiver position in anticipation of the graduation of senior Markus Wheaton, and after the early departure of Jordan Bishop, who would have been gone after this season even if he hadn't opted to retire early after suffering multiple foot injuries.
