Oregon St. has opened as a 1 point favorite over Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec, 29 in San Antonio.
Given that this is effectively a road game for the Beavers, ranked #13 in the BCS, despite the fact that they are the designated home team, since the Longhorns, ranked #23 in the BCS, are playing only 80 miles from home, that line suggests a bit of confidence by the odds makers in Oregon St.
As the home team, Oregon St. at least avoids the all-white look of the practice uniform look, but its not yet determined if the Beavers will be in black or orange jerseys. Here's hoping that if the orange look gets the nod, the white pants will be left behind, avoiding the ice cream desert look, in favor of the black pants, and their best look. All black looks good as well.
And the 2 biggest margin wins of the year were over California in a black-out, and Nicholls St., in their classic orange over black.
As the designated home team, Oregon St.'s bench will be on the east side of the Alamo Dome, which is the press box side.
