Oregon St. has a somewhat untimely scheduled men's basketball game scheduled for Sat., Jan. 29, which Beaver fans are well aware of is also the date for the Alamo Bowl, which will kickoff at 3:45 PM PST. The basketball game was initially scheduled for a 2 PM tipoff, and some schedules show that as well as a 5 PM start in places, but because of the Beavers being in their biggest bowl game since the 2001 Fiesta Bowl, start time has been backed up to 1 PM.
Oregon St. also has a plan for those who aren't making the trip to San Antonio, and will be in town, and looking for some Beaver fellowship.
Following the basketball game, fans can hang around at Gill Coliseum and watch the game on the big screen with the hoops team players and coaches, and get an autograph. Additionally, the first 1,000 fans in the building for the basketball game also get a free Alamo Bowl t-shirt. (You can pretend later that you went to the game!)
The football watch party in Reser for the road game at UCLA went so well the idea got dusted off for this event. There won't be a lot of students in town, but this week's winter break home hoops games still had a smattering of them in "The Dam" (some people do live in and around Corvallis), so it won't be an empty building, and when the Beavers make that Alamo Bowl winning drive, you have an opportunity to cheer it with others from Beaver Nation even if your still in town.
