Oregon State opened their season last Friday evening with a solid 102-83 win over Niagara. The Beavs had six players in double-digits with Roberto Nelson leading the way with 22 points.
Tonight the Beavs will face a tougher test at Gill Coliseum against the WAC conference champions New Mexico State. The Aggies are returning seven players from last year's 26-10 squad, which earned them a spot in the NCAAs. Of note the New Mexico State averaged last season 78.1 points, which interestingly enough finished them just a spot behind the Beavs in scoring average (78.9 points per game) at 11th in the nation. Somehow I have a feeling we are in for some offense tonight.
The game is televised live on ESPNU, on the radio via the Beaver Sports Radio Network online, and you can also follow online; for more information about game coverage and about the game go here:

This is New Mexico State's opener for the 2012-13 season and the game is the second of the regional round for the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, which will include for the Beavs with a trip to New York, NY this Thursday for the championship round games against Alabama and Purdue/Villanova [rvm editorial note: don't ask me how this all works, I have no clue but should be some fun games upcoming starting tonight!].
