2011 BTD Preseason Football Poll: Pac-12 South (6th Place)

We've completed the North half of the Pac-12, and today we will start picking the Pac-12 South. In case you've missed any of our first posts, the North looks like this:

1. Oregon
2. Stanford
3. Oregon State
4. Washington
5. California
5. Washington State

Below you will find my prediction, along with the six Pac-12 South teams. Your job is simple, just pick the team that you think will finish 6th in the South Division this season. The poll will be open all day, and the next poll will be up shortly after.

Happy Voting!

My Prediction: Arizona

I know I picked the Wildcats to win the Pac-10 last season (And that pick didn't look so bad when they were ranked #10 in the nation going into October), but things should be different this year, mostly due to their tough schedule. The Wildcats got the worst draw in the conference scheduling department, as the two teams they will miss are projected to finish 5 and 6th in the Pac-12 North, California and Washington State.

They do get to host Stanford and Oregon, but I can't see the mediocre Wildcat defense slowing down both of those teams. Next up are trips to USC and Oregon State, where a split is possible, although I don't see them winning any of those two.

The best chances for Pac-12 wins will come in the next four games, when Arizona hosts UCLA, goes at Washington, hosts Utah, and finishes the stretch at Colorado. If the Cats can manage a win in two of those games, they will almost certainly get out of the cellar of the Pac-12 South. However, I think they only manage to squeak by the Utes, leaving them with a last place finish and no bowl game for the first time since 2007.
