#1 Oregon State (41-17) vs #1 Vanderbilt (50-10) - 5:00 PM (PDT) - Hawkins Field, Nashville, TN - 1240 KEJO/1550 KKOV/1550kkad.com - ESPNU

Oregon State and Vanderbilt meet at 5:00 PM west coast time tonight in Game 1 of the Nashville Super Regional. The series is a best of three, with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Game 2 will be tomorrow night at 6:00 PM Pacific.

Oregon State comes into tonight's game with a record of 41-17. The Beavers have good wins against Connecticut, Arizona (2), Arizona State (3), Stanford (3), UCLA (2), California (2), Arkansas-Little Rock, Creighton, and Georgia. Oregon State has other solid victories against Gonzaga (2), Oregon, and Long Beach State (2).

The Beavers are currently on a three game winning streak after defeating Arkansas-Little Rock, Creighton, and Georgia in last weekend's Corvallis Regional. In Oregon State's last game against Georgia, the Beavers held on for a 6-4 victory despite a hurt pitcher and a power outage in the final inning. Georgia led twice in the game, once at 1-0 and again at 2-1, but the Beavers perservered and took home the regional championship.

Oregon State is one of ten one seeds to play in the Super Regionals.

The Commodores come into the game with a record of 50-10. The Commodores are currently on a three game winning streak after defeating Belmont (Twice) and Troy to win the Nashville Regional.

In last Friday's 10-0 thrashing of the Belmont Bruins, Vanderbilt starter Sonny Gray went 6 innings, giving up 0 runs on 3 hits. In the Saturday game against Troy, the Commodores cruised to another win, this one by a 10-2 count. Aaron Westlake led Vandy at the plate with 3 RBI's in the win.

In the regional championship against Belmont, Commodore starter Taylor Hill got the job done, going 8 innings and giving up Belmont's only run of the day. Hill got help from his teammates at the plate, as Vanderbilt knocked in six runs to cruise to another easy victory.

Sam Gaviglio (12-2, 1.87) will get the start for the Beavers, while the Commodores will send out Sonny Gray (11-3, 2.01). In Gaviglio's last start, Sam went 9 innings, giving up 1 run (Earned) on 5 hits.

Temperatures will be in the 90s  approaching game time, which is 7 PM locally in Nashville, with only a slow decline during the evening.

Go Beavers!
