Oregon State and California meet at 5:35 PM west coast time tonight to begin the three game series between the Beavers and Golden Bears. After this weekend's series, the Beavers are off until Tuesday, when they will welcome the Portland Pilots into Corvallis for a quick mid-week game.
Oregon State comes into tonight's game with a record of 32-10, 12-3 in the Pac-10. The Beavers have good wins against Connecticut, Arizona State (3), Stanford (3), and UCLA (2). Oregon State has other solid victories against Gonzaga (2), Oregon, Long Beach State, and Arizona.
The Beavers are currently on a two game losing streak after falling to UCLA on Sunday and Oregon last Tuesday. The main problem in those losses was the lack of runs for the Beavers. Oregon State only plated two runs in each game.
The Golden Bears come into the game with a record of 27-14, 11-7 in the Pac-10. California's good wins have came against Coastal Carolina, Rice, and San Francisco. The Golden Bears are currently on a two game winning streak after defeating Oregon and Santa Clara.
In California's last game, the Golden Bears defeated the Santa Clara Broncos, 4-1. In that game, California led 1-0 after scoring in the third inning and they cruised from there.
The Golden Bears won two of three games last weekend against Oregon, moving into third place in the Pac-10. After this weekend's series with the Beavers, the Golden Bears will return to action on Tuesday, May 17th when they face the UC Davis Aggies on the road.
For tomorrow's game, the Beavers will send out Josh Osich (6-1, 2.77). The Golden Bears will start Justin Jones (5-4, 3.32).
