Beaver Baseball Breaks Into Top 10, Dunn Pac-10 POW

Oregon St.'s sweep of the weekend series over previously fifth ranked Arizona St. has propelled the Beavers into the top 10 in two of the baseball top 25 polls. The Sun Devils had not been swept in a Pac-10 series since 1999, and the Beavers had not swept them since 1966.

Baseball America elevated Oregon St. to 9th., one lost above Arizona St., while Baseballnews.com slotted the Beavers at #10, with Arizona St. at 13th.

Interestingly, the USA Today/Coaches' Poll only elevated Oregon St. to 15th., and kept Arizona St. in a tie for 10th.

Additionally, junior Ryan Dunn was named the Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week. Dunn had three multi-hit games in the week, including the Beavers' win at Portland. In both Friday and Sunday's wins, it was Dunn doubles that delivered the runs that put Oregon St. ahead to stay in the come from behind wins over the Sun Devils. Dunn also delivered his second home run of the season on Sunday.

Stanford, this week's Pac-10 opponent, is ranked 17th. by Baseball America, and 21st. by Baseballnews.com.
