Oregon St. To Open Pac-10 Tournament Against Stanford

Oregon St. will open play in the Pac-10 Tournament Wednesday night in the Staples Center in Los Angeles at approximately 8:30 PM against the Stanford Cardinal.

Stanford (15-15, 7-11) dropped a 74-55 decision to Cal Saturday night, and dropped into a tie with Oregon for seventh place in the Pac-10, but the Ducks had the tiebreaker, by virtue of their win over conference champion Arizona, since the 'Cats swept the Cardinal.

Stanford beat Oregon St. 70-56 in the teams' first meeting in Palo Alto in January, but Oregon St. (10-19, 5-13) claimed an 87-80 win in the rematch on February 24, behind a 21 point performance by Jared Cunningham.

Oregon (14-16, 7-11) will face Arizona St. (12-18, 4-14) in the evening's first game, at 6 PM. FSN will have national coverage of all the games in the tournament except the championship game, which will be on CBS. Here's the complete schedule for the men's tournament.

The winner of the Oregon St.-Stanford game will play UCLA (22-9, 13-5), the tournament's second seed, Thursday night, at 6 PM.

Oregon St.'s victory over Stanford was the Beavers' lone win in their last 8 games. Oregon St. has dropped their last three games, 7 of 8, 10 of 12, and 13 of 16.

Stanford had won two straight after the Beavers had handed them their fourth consecutive loss, before the loss in Berkeley. The Cardinal claimed an 88-71 win in Eugene over Oregon, and then dispatched Seattle University 77-66 on Senior Night last Tuesday. Recall, the Redhawks handed Oregon St. an 83-80 defeat way back on November 17.
