Baseball Open Thread: Hartford @ OSU (Cut and Paste Version)

Hartford (0-0) @ Oregon State (5-3) - 12:05 PM (PST) - Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, Corvallis, OR - 1550 KKOV

After last night's rainout, partly sunny, but dry skys greeted Oregon St. and Hartford this morning in Corvallis, for today's double header. It will be the first of two double headers between the Beavers and the Hawks, with another tomorrow, starting at 1:05.

The second game each day is scheduled to start 30 minutes after the end of the first game.

The series begins a nine game home stand in which the Beavers will also face Oregon, New Mexico State (2), and VMI (2).

Oregon State comes into this game with an overall record of 5-3. The Beavers opened up the season in Fresno, where they went 2-2. After the FSU Tournament, the team traveled to Texas, where they went 3-1.

These will be Hartford's first games of the season.

The Hawks will send right hander Anthony Mannuccia (0-0, 0.00 ERA) to the mound. The Beavers starter will be Sam Gaviglio(1-0), who has started the previous two Friday games for the Beavers, and still has a 0.00 ERA.

Mannuccia went 1-5 with and 8.62 ERA last season. Anthony appeared pitched 48 innings in 14 games (7 starts). He also had 22 walks and 30 strikeouts. Mannuccia will be a Sophomore this season.

Last year, Hartford went 11-37.

The game, Oregon State's home opener, should get at least the first game in, as the forecast calls for 52° and only partly cloudy. Showers are expected this evening, but not likely to even start until after 4 PM.

Go Beavers!
