2011 NCAA Tournament: Connor's Elite 8 Picks

The NCAA Tournament continues tomorrow afternoon across the nation with the first games of the Elite 8.

This year, I will be picking every NCAA Tournament game. If you want to join me in the comments section, I'll keep everyone's records as well. Enjoy!

Saturday, March 27th (All Times Pacific)

Butler vs Florida, 1:30 PM, CBS

I think America's favorite Cinderella just keeps on rolling in this one. The Bulldogs have already faced, and defeated, the toughest team in the Southeast Region, and I actually think they will easily handle the Gators. There's something about Florida I just don't like, but maybe they prove me wrong again. Prediction: Butler

Arizona vs Connecticut, 4:05 PM, CBS

There have been so many incredible games so far in this tournament, but this will no doubt be up there with the best. I've flipped back and forth all day on this one, and I've finally decided to go with the Huskies. I don't have a good reason for it, besides the fact I love Kemba Walker. But I also love Derrick Williams! UConn wins on a Triple-OT buzzer beater, I guess. Prediction: Connecticut

More picks after the break.

Sunday, March 28th (All Times Pacific)

VCU vs Kansas, 11:20 AM, CBS

The only 1 Seed left against the only team to win four games so far this tournament. I finally think the hype and fatigue catches up with the Rams, not to mention the talent that Kansas brings to the table. Kansas wins this one, but it's close until mid-way through the second half. Prediction: Kansas

Kentucky vs North Carolina, 2:05 PM, CBS

Despite the Tar Heels being a 2 Seed and Kentucky being a 4 Seed, in my mind, the seeds should be reversed. The Wildcats are as hot as any team in the nation right now, save for the VCU Rams and the other Wildcats of Arizona, and while North Carolina has looked good as well, they haven't been overly impressive in any of their recent games. I think the Wildcats win this one, and they are my new favorite to win it all after defeating the Buckeyes. Prediction: Kentucky

Record: 43-17, Prediction, 47-20
