Pac-10 Tourney Quarterfinals Open Thread: Oregon State vs Arizona

Oregon State (11-19) vs Arizona (25-6) - 2:40 PM PST - Staples Center in Los Angeles - FSN - Radio on KEJO 1240/KPAM 860

It truly was March madness when the Beavers pulled out a two point victory over Stanford last night, but Oregon State now has a chance to cause national shockwaves when they face the Arizona Wildcats today. With a win, the Beavers would not only advance to the Semifinals, but they would also lower Arizona's at-large seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Last night, Oregon State and Stanford opened the tournament with a two point thriller, as the Beavers pulled out a 69-67 win. Jared Cunningham led the Beavers with 24 points, and Devon Collier followed him with 19 points.

Oregon State's opposition today, the Arizona Wildcats, got the night off thanks to a top six finish in regular season play. Arizona hasn't played since last Saturday, when the Wildcats sent their Seniors out in style with an eight point victory against the visiting Ducks. Kyle Fogg led the Wildcats with 20 points. Derrick Williams and Solomon Hill were the next highest scorers, adding 14 points a piece. The Wildcats shot less than 56% overall from the field in the victory.

The Beavers and Wildcats met just a week ago on March 3rd in the McKale Center, where the Wildcats opened Senior Week in style with a 70-59 win over the Beavers. The victory clinched at least a share of the conference championship for Arizona, a title they would go on to win outright two days later against Oregon.

Devon Collier led the Beavers with 12 points, followed by Joe Burton, who added 10 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. Collier and Omari Johnson however were the leaders on the glass, pulling down 10 rebounds a piece. Following Burton in points were Angus Brandt and Omari with 9 points each.

Lamont "Momo" Jones led everyone in points that night with 17. Derrick Williams followed Jones with 15 points.

Building the Dam will have full coverage of the game, plus a recap after all of Day 2's action in Los Angeles.
