Gwacham Gets Win In UW Open

Oregon St. redshirt freshman WR, though a sophomore in terms of his track and field eligibility, won the high jump in the University of Washington Open Sunday in the Dempsey Indoor Athletic Facility, clearing 6'9.75", 1.75" higher than second place Alec Fellows.

Gwachum also placed third in the triple jump, in his first collegiate effort in that event. bounding 46' 5.25". Keinan Briggs claimed the win with a mark of 52' 4.75".

Beaver WR Marcus Wheaton finished tied with Central Washington's Bryan Mack for second in the final heat, and overall, in the 60 meter dash. Both Wheaton and Mack were clocked at 6.97, a full .1 second behind winner Sam Michener. CB Keynan Parker finished right behind Wheaton, fourth in the final heat, but fifth overall, with a time of 7.00.

RB Malcolm Marable finished in a tie for 18th. overall, with a time of 7.23, .03 faster than he ran in Saturday's meet, in the field of 61 sprinters.
