Week 13 Blog Poll: SEC Rules, But Stanford Is Popular

The generally accepted view that the SEC's top teams are college football's top teams was confirmed by the SB Nation voters, but Stanford surprisingly got a lot of respect, despite struggling against California. Unlike in some circles, where Virginia Tech was elevated, to the consternation of people from Kirk Herbstreit to Cardinal coach David Shaw, the SBN voters put Stanford solidly in 4th., behind the LSU/Alabama/Arkansas triangle.

Boise St. and Oregon also represent the west in the top 10, at 7 & 9, and USC, as big a climber as anyone, jumped up 5 spots to #13. All 4 could make some more progress with wins this week, given potential outcomes for their polling competition.
