Oregon St. (3-0) meets Texas (2-0) tonight at approximately 6 PM PST (9 PM EST) in the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ, in the semi-finals of the Ticket City Classic. The game will be televised on ESPN3 and the Longhorn Network, and as usual, will be on radio, on KEJO 1240, and KPAM 860 (Streaming). Since Mike Parker was in Corvallis for the football game today, Jon Warren will have the call.

Last time out, the Beavers bested Hofstra 82-72  Wednesday night, behind career high nights scoring by both Jared Cunningham, who had 35 points, and Devon Collier, who had 25, and a career high assist night by Joe Burton, who had 11 assists to go with 10 rebounds for a double double. The 3-0 start is the Beavers' best since 2000.

The Longhorns defeated Rhode Island 100-90 Tuesday, behind a another career high 35 point performance, this one by 6'1" junior guard J'Covan Brown. Texas had 5 players in double figures in the shootout.

The last time the teams met was 10 years ago in the Great Alaska Shootout, when Texas won 78-68. The Longhorns have won 4 of the 5 times they have met up with the Beavers. Oregon St.'s lone win was a 54-42 win in the 1967 Far West Classic.

Oregon St. will have a size advantage, as Texas has only one player taller than 6'7", 6'10" senior post Clint Chapman, who happens to be from Canby, OR.

Like the Beavers, the Longhorns are a young team, with only one senior besides Chapman on the squad.

Vanderbilt and North Carolina St. met in the earlier game, which started at 3:30 PST (6:30 EST), and the Oregon St.-Texas game will tip 25 minutes after that game ends. The winners and losers meet Monday, with the 3rd. place game at 3:30 PST, and the Championship game 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

If you are back from the football game against Washington, here's the place to discuss the game, and reflect back on the afternoon's events as well.

Go Beavs!
