LSU and Oklahoma St. are headed to the BCS National Championship if they win out, and the poll reflects that. But if the upsets continue, it gets interesting. Oregon overtook Oklahoma, but not Alabama, with their win over Stanford. Boise St. plummeted clear out of the top 10 for want of an accurate field goal kicker.
Stanford is right on the cusp of getting an at-large BCS Bowl bid, and would benefit from LSU beating Arkansas, especially if they do so soundly.

USC remains the only other western team that is relevant nationally. It could be worse though; the not so Big East, who will get an automatic berth in a BCS bowl, has no team even in the top 25.
I would say the Beavers must have impressed the folks at Bucky's Fifth Quarter, the Wisconsin Blog, who voted Oregon St. #3 in the nation, except they dropped Oregon clear out of their top 25, so I'm suspecting a mis-click must have happened there.
