Oregon St. Adds Recruits

(Updated)

Oregon St. just picked up their twelfth verbal commit for the 2012 season, as Chris Miller, from Pomona, CA, accepted the Beavers' offer of a scholarship, the first one he received, and without even visiting the campus.

Miller had been invited to visit Utah, Washington and Washington St. as well.

Miller is 6'1", 195 lbs., and plays both safety and running back for Diamond Ranch High. The Panthers are currently 4-4 on the season, but are in second place in the Hacienda League standings, with a 3-1 record. Diamond Ranch has won 4 of their last 5 after an 0-3 start. (So Miller will already be accustomed to typical Oregon St. rebuilding starts to the season.)

Neither Rivals.com nor Scout.com has rated Miller any stars, and Oregon St. is initially listing him as an "athlete", and will decide where to use Miller after his arrival (special teams anyone?).

And shortly thereafter, the Beavers had another offer accepted.

As ximiankernel reported below, Caleb Saulo, a quarterback and outside linebacker from Kent, WA, also accepted an offer from coach Mike Riley.

Saulo, who is 6'2" & weighs 218 lbs., plays in a pro-style offense for Kentlake High, and is also an outside linebacker. The Falcons are currently 8-0, and lead the 4A SPSL (Seattle Puget Sound League) - North League with a 7-0 mark.

Saulo, a 2 star recruit according to Scout.com, was the MVP at the WashingtonPreps 5 Star Camp this past summer, and also had offers from Army and Portland St.
