Oregon St. fullback and special teams enthusiast Clayton York was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week for his trifecta against Arizona.

York blocked a punt, recovered the loose ball, and ran the last 5 yards in for a touchdown, credited as a 41 yard return, 6 minutes into the second quarter against the Wildcats. The score put Oregon St. up 14-0, and the Beavers went on to score 27 points in the period, and defeat the Wildcats 37-27.

And Beavers' safety Lance Mitchell was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. Mitchell had 5 solo tackles, 2 assists, an interception (the 6th of his career), a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup. Mitchell's special teams contribution, the 13 yard reception on a pass from Johnny Hekker from punt formation, which kept a drive alive that led to Trevor Romaine's field goal that opened the lead to 17-6, didn't hurt either.

In other OSU news, kickoff and the tv details has been set for the second Cougar game, the one in Seattle on Oct. 22 at Centurylink Field in downtown Seattle, against Washington St.

The game will be carried nationally on ROOT Sports and the Fox Sports Network of regional sports stations, and will be the Saturday night game. Kickoff will be shortly after 7:30 PM.

The game will be the Beaver Nation's major road trip, the one with the largest contingent of fans, complete with the full marching band.

Go Beavs! Beat the Cougs! (All of them!)
