Arizona 67, Stanford 57: The Pac-10 season continued Sunday morning at the McKale Center in a game delayed because of the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. While the city of Tucson was still in shock and mourning, the Wildcats wanted to give them something to cheer about for a couple of hours, which they did.
The game was close throughout the first half, but a 10-0 run in the final 3:35 gave Arizona a 39-28 lead at Halftime. The Wildcats cruised from there, with Stanford only being able to pull within five at a couple points mid-way through the half. The final score was 67-57, and the Wildcats did give the citizens of Tucson something to smile about on Sunday afternoon.
Jamelle Horne led the Wildcats off the bench with 16 points, while Josh Owens led Stanford with 18 points.
USC 63, UCLA 52: Another week of Pac-10 Basketball wrapped up on Sunday evening, with the UCLA Bruins going across town to take on rival USC.
This game was close throughout the entire first half. When one team would make a small run, the other would answer with a big bucket of their own. At the end of the first twenty minutes, the Bruins took a 30-28 lead into the locker rooms.
USC came out of Halftime firing though, and the Trojans quickly built up a lead that they would never relinquish. UCLA did cut the lead down to four with 5:35 left, but the Trojans closed out the game on a 11-4 run, capping a solid 11 point victory.
Nikola Vucevic led the Trojans with 20 points, while Reeves Nelson led the Bruins with 14.
