Oregon State makes their 2010 debut today at Cowboys Stadium, where the No. 6 TCU Horned Frogs await.
Seasoned veteran Andy Dalton leads the Horned Frogs into their season opener, needing a win to jump start what Gary Patterson hopes will be another season that culminates in a BCS Bowl.
Oregon State, on the other hand, will start sophomore Ryan Katz. Katz has 27 career passes and 14 completions, but no meaningful playing time under his belt. He will be thrust into the spotlight today, as the Beavers will be competing under the national spotlight and on football's biggest stage.
This game is the homecoming of James and Jacquizz Rodgers, who grew up and were high school football stars in Richmond, Texas.
"Lots of our people, they bought tickets through TCU so all these people who think a bunch of TCU fans are coming, they're gonna be wearing orange and black instead," Tasha Williams (mother of James and Quizz) told the Oregonian's Lindsay Schnell last night.
The Rodgers Brothers and the rest of the Oregon State team would like nothing less than a win tonight to get their season started on the right note.
Kickoff is set for 4:45 Pacific on ESPN.
