Do You Want To Play In the Postseason, Or Not?

That's pretty much what it all boils down to if you're the Beavers today and tomorrow.

The Beavers will most likely have to win one out of their final two games to get into the Postseason.

Their opponent, the Arizona Wildcats, will probably also have to win one of these final two games to get into the Field of 64., the website I trust the most for College Baseball, has the Beavers in the Field right now and playing in the Louisville Regional. They also have them facing Alabama and Central Michigan while there.

Meanwhile, Baseball America has Arizona State, UCLA, Oregon, Stanford and Washington state among the teams that are “safely in” the 64-team field, while it listed Arizona, Oregon State and California as “on the bubble (in),” and Washington as “on the bubble (out).”

The Beavers have also recieved help from the Conference Tournament Favorites, with only the Colonial League not helping out the Beavers. VCU or UNC Wilmington will get the Automatic Bid from that conference, while James Madison will probably get an At-Large Bid. That means one less Bubble Spot for the Beavers.

The Wildcats will throw soph. righty Kyle Simon (3-2, 4.80), and he will face the Beavers' Sam Gaviglio (2-3, 6.09).

Both Starters for Sunday's game are TBA.

Arizona is not a Power Hitting team, but they are good at driving in Runners in Scoring Position. Besides for the 1st Inning, I believe the only time Arizona left a Runner on Base was after the Back to Back Triples. The Beavers on the other hand, need to work on the RISP Category if they want to think about advancing past a Regional.

First Pitch is at 2:00 PM, and the game will be televised on FSN NW. I will put up an Open Thread sometime around then.

Go Beavers!
