OSU vs Utah Valley - 7:00 PM - Gill Coliseum - Radio on KPAM 860
The Beavers return to Corvallis tonight for a non-conference game against Utah Valley. The Beavers are coming off a 84-74 win against Howard last Saturday.
The Beavers lead by as much as 14 in the 2nd Half against the Bison, and they hung on for a 10 point victory. Omari Johnson led the Beavers with 17 points.
As far as starters go for today, expect more of the same from the Beavers. That means Joe Burton and Omari Johnson getting the start down low, with Jared Cunningham, Calvin Haynes, and Devon Collier in the backcourt.
Head coach Craig Robinson had this to say after the game, "I was just happy that we were able to pull this game out not having played one of our better games. To their credit, Howard took advantage of being the home team. They put a lot of pressure on us and we came out sort of tentatively like we have done against teams like this. We play to the level of our competition."
Utah Valley, a Division I member of the Great West, is currently 2-3 on the season.
The Wolverines dropped their first three games against Maine, Florida International, and Georgia State, all of them being close games except the 13 point loss against GSU. But like the Beavers, Utah Valley is on a two game winning streak after defeating La Sierra and Northern New Mexico.
