Baseball Open Thread: vs. Washington, Game 3

Yesterday definitely didn't go as planned, with UW hitting two home runs in the first two innings to build an early 9-0 lead.

Starter Greg Peavey didn't have his best stuff, obviously, and Pat Casey had this to say to Norm Maves, Jr. after the game:

"When you do things in this game," said Beaver coach Pat Casey afterward, "you have to do them with confidence. Our starting pitcher didn't take the mound with confidence.

"These things will find you, and you can be intimidated by this park. It's a bandbox and the wind's blowing out. You've got to make adjustments."

Casey obviously wasn't happy with Greg's performance. Tyler Waldron has already been lifted from the starting rotation, and it seems like there could be some further movement with guys like Ryan Gorton and Sam Gaviglio ready to step up into starting roles.

Today, it will be Jorge Reyes against Washington's freshman sensation Andrew Kitterage. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
