The Beavers have already crossed Southern Oregon off their list of exhibition opponents, and only one remains: another member of the Oregon University System: Western Oregon.
The Beavers handled the Raiders 94-53 last Sunday night to kickoff the season. Four Oregon State players scored in double figures while the defense forced 22 Raider turnovers in 41-point win.Oregon State shot 56.5 percent from the floor (35-of-62) while holding Southern Oregon to just 37.5 percent (18-of-48) from the field.
Western Oregon opened up its season on Wednesday against Portland State as the Vikings defeated the Wolves, 108-65. Rico Myles and Gabe Thrash led the way for Western Oregon in the loss. Myles poured in 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and four assists in 22 minutes of play. Thrash added 10 points off the bench as he went 5-of-8 from the field.
Western Oregon, a NCAA Division II institution and member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, returns two starters and seven letter-winners from a squad that finished the 2008-09 season with a mark of 10-17.
Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Gill Coliseum.
