Lady Beavers Lose Second Conference Game to USC

The Beavers were physically outplayed Sunday night at the Galen Center, where the Lady Trojans won 78-54. With the loss, the OSU women's basketball team falls to 9-3 on the season, and 0-2 in the conference. 

The Beavers were out-rebounded 39-24 in the game, and 18-4 on the offensive glass. 

Oregon State didn't handle the ball particularly well at all, turning the ball over 33 times, compared to USC's 23.

USC led 44-21 at the half, thanks mostly to spectacular free-throw shooting. The Trojans were 7 of 14 from behind the arc in the first half, and the Beavers were 1-of-4. 

Oregon State went on a 13-0 run to start the second half, but USC responded with a similar run of their own.  The Trojans continued to add to their lead in teh second half, and went on to win with by a 24 point margin.

Talisa Rhea led the Beavers with 17 points, and center Alex Mitchell added 14.

Oregon State returns home Thursday to host Arizona State in the Beavers' Pac-10 Conference opener. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 at Gill Coliseum.
