With a win in their Pac-10 opener behind them, the Beavers are looking to win their first conference series of the year with another win over the Washington Huskies. The Huskies just had an eleven game hitting streak snapped and come into this game at 16-7.
On the Mound for the Beavers is... James Nygren. The Freshman has made six appearances this year, and has yet to achieve a win or a loss this season. In 9.1 innings if work, James has a .96 ERA, seven strikeouts, and three walks. In his last time out against Pepperdine, James went five innings, giving up four hits and one run to the Waves. He struck out four and walked three in the outing.
On the Mound for the Huskies is... Jorden Merry. The junior right hander takes a 3-0 record and a team low 1.31 ERA into the second game of the series with Oregon State. Merry has five appearances and three starts for an overall total of 20.2 innings of work. He’s struck out 23 of 75 batters he’s faced, and batters are hitting .213 against him.
