There's something great going on up the road in Portland with the Trail Blazers. It seems as if the Blazers went from rags to riches in less than two years. That's the kind of remodel the Beavers need. Read some about what the Blazers are doing over at Canzano's blog. And, I've been voting for Brandon Roy and Co. in the All-Star Voting every day. Have you?

Some UCLA fans are rather obsessive...

Looks like Arkansas' Derren McFadden was handcuffed then released on no charges yesterday. He was involved in a "pretty rowdy scene" at a local piano bar. His little brother had suffered a bloody nose, and that didn't make Mr. McFadden happy. But he says that he didn't fight or anything. Someone just jumped on him.

A Washington alum reportedly pledged $100,000 of Ty Wilingham was fired, and another $100,000 if AD Todd Turner was fired. Here is what he said in e-mails to Washington's administration:

"By this letter I hereby pledge to contribute a minimum of $100,000 towards a law school scholarship within 90 days, conditioned upon the termination of Ty Willingham as football coach.

"In addition, I hereby pledge a second $100,000 towards a law school scholarship within 90 days, conditioned upon the termination of Todd Turner as athletic director.

"Also, I do not intend to contribute any further funds to the athletic department as long as these two gentlemen are employed by the University."
