Jacoby stands on third after his first MLB triple last week
Manny Ramierez has been absent from the Red Sox lineup for thirteen games now with a torn oblique, but Boston has been doing just fine without him. Jacoby extended his MLB hit streak to 10 games last night with a single against Tampa Bay. He doesn't bring the power of Manny Ramirez to the plate, but he's had a hot bat in his current stint in the big leagues. His batting average is currently at .370, and although it probably won't stay that way forever, it's still pretty impressive for a guy who was roaming the outfield in Corvallis three years ago.
