Thursday Morning News and Notes

Darwin Barney and Eddie Kunz will be on AM Northwest (Channel 2) this morning. The show will air from 9:00- 10:00. I just might live blog it. We'll see.

Also, the National Championship Trophy will be at the NikeTown in Portland tomorrow, which is Friday.  Mike Lissman, Anton Maxwell, and Scott Santschi will also be on hand. For more info, here's the place.

Kyle over at Dawg Sports brings up a very interesting topic regarding the way the College World Series is formatted. With the Beavers winning a national championship while finishing sixth in their conference and having a losing record, I knew this would come up. I figured a lot of people would view our championship as a fluke because we didn't have the most success in the regular season and won the title because of experience from the last year. Anyway, I'll post my response to Kyle's post in a few days.

The NBA Draft is today, and as we all know, Portland has the #1 pick. ESPN  is reporting that the Blazers have told Oden he's the one, but Dave over at Blazer's Edge says that Oden's agent hasn't been told. The way I look at it, the Blazers can't lose with either Oden or Durant, but the would benefit from Oden the most. The draft is at 4:00, and all our questions will be answered there.

Sunday Morning Quarterback, the king of CFB blogs, brings us his "Reasonably Anticipatory Assessment" of Oregon State. It's a very in-depth look at OSU's 2007 season. Where SMQ gets the time to do this, I don't know. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.
