Weekend Wrap

It was yet another busy weekend for OSU Sports, so here is the rundown:

The Spring Game was played on Saturday-- I was paying more attention to the conflicting baseball game, so I didn't go or listen on the radio. If you're interested, various websites have their reviews and pictures of the game.

The Baseball team went 2-1 against Stanford for the weekend. Scroll down for all the coverage I provided. The Beavs won game one 13-7, a game that lacked pitching and lasted four hours and four minutes. Saturday's game was a tough loss, when Michael Taylor hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the eleventh to win it for the Cardinal. Greg Keim hung a curveball, and Taylor ripped it. The Beavers did have their chances however, and they gave up leads in both the ninth and eleventh innings. Sunday's game resulted in a 8-6 victory.

The Beavers travel to Seattle for a series with the Huskies this weekend. Friday's game will be at Safeco, and Saturday and Sunday's will be at Husky Ballpark.

The NFL draft was this weekend, and two Beavers were selected. Sabby Piscitelli went 64th Overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Adam Koets went 189th to the NY Giants. Moore and Newton went undrafted, but they are expected to sign free agent contracts in the near future.

Mandi Rodriguez finished fifth in the vault at the NCAA Championships on Saturday. Tasha Smith finished eleventh in the same event.

The Softball team is 1-2 so far this weekend, with one game remaining today. They won Friday's game against Washington by a score of 2-0, and then lost back to back games to UCLA on Saturday and Sunday by scores of 3-6 and 3-5, respectively.

Go Beavers!
