Friday's game was all about the offenses, and Oregon State used the help of two bases loaded, base clearing doubles to propel them over Stanford on Friday night by a score of 13-7.
The pitchers didn't fare very well--- neither OSU's Mike Stutes or Stanford's Jeremy Bleich made it out of the fifth inning. Oregon State also used Blake Keitzman, Mark Grbavac, and Eddie Kunz to finish off the game, and Stanford used Bleich and four other guys out of the bullpen.
The top of OSU's line-up dominated as usual-- Chir Hopkins was 1-3 with three runs, Mitch Canham was 2 for 4 with three runs and three batted in, and Darwin Barney was 3 for 6 with two runs scored, and a pair batted in.
For Stanford, second baseman Adam Sorgi lead the way, going 3 for 4 with a run scored.
Game two of the series is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Sunken Diamond.
Go Beavers!
