Pac-10 Baseball :: Brief Friday Recap

Here's what went down in other Pac-10 games last night:

Arizona at UCLA

UCLA pitcher Tyson Brummett alloed five hits in a complete game effort to lead the Bruins over Arizona, 9-3. Arizona was only able to score three runs of Brummett, two of them earned.

Arizona State at Cal

Tyson Ross struck out nine Arizona State batters on his way to his fifth win of the season. Ross pitched into the eighth, as the Bears won 4-2.

Washington State at USC

Paul Gran went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and three RBI to help the Cougars edge out the Trojans, 5-4. Gran's three run homer in the fifth inning was his second homer of the season. After that, the Cougars had to hold off a ninth inning rally by the Trojans to get the win.

Washington vs. Utah Valley State

In non-conference action, Utah Valley State scored 12 runs (yes, 12!) in the second inning to propel themselves over Washington, 17-9.

Go Beavers!
