The Beavers and Rebels made up yesterday's game this morning, and it went the way of the Beavers by a score of 10-2. Here's a look at the inning-by-inning recap:
Top 1
Kowalski grounded out to second to start the game, then Patterson hit Roundy with a pitch to put him on first. HE got two consecutive ground outs to the left side, however, and escaped the inning.
Bottom 1
CF Chris Hopkins lined out to second to start the game, then Jason Ogata singled up the middle. He stole second, and then Canham hit a ball that should of been a double, but he was thrown out on the relay. He still got an RBI, and the Beavers got the early lead. Lissman struck out swinging to end the inning.
Top 2
Xavier Scruggs struck out to start the inning for the Rebels, then Bonnell singled. Patterson balked, advancing Bonnell to third, but then Patterson struck out Bowman for the second out. Beuerlein singled through the left side putting the runner at third, but Jarred Frierson grounded out to the pitcher to end the inning.
Bottom 2
The Beavers didn't do very much damage in this inning... Barney grounded out, Lennerton walked, Santschi struck out, and Drew George hit into a fielder's choice.
Top 3
Kowalski walked, then Roundy was out on a bunt, but advanced Kowalski to second. Smith fouled out to right field, and Kowalski moved up again, this time tagging up on the fly. Yet again with a runner on third, the Rebels couldn't get the run home as Miller flied out to right.
Bottom 3
Koa Kahalehoe grounded out to short to begin the inning, and then Hopkins flied out to left. With two down, Ogata and Canham got back to back walks, putting runners at first and second. Drew George grounded into his second fielder's choice of the day, ending the inning.
Top 4
Xavier Scruggs walked, and then Bonnell bunted Scruggs to second, but was out at first for the first out. Bowman walked, putting runners at first and second, but then Beuerlein fled out to left, and Scruggs was caught stealing third to end the inning.
Bottom 4
Darwin Barney doubled to left center to start things off, and then Jordan Lennerton homered to left for two RBI's. Santschi singled, George doubled, and Kahalehoe walked, loading the bases. Chris Hopkins reached on a fielder's choice, then Ogata stuck out looking. The Rebels went to their bullpen, and Mitch Canham promptly hit a Grand Slam to right field for 4 RBI's, and gave the Beavers their seventh run of the inning. Lissman flied out to right, Barney walked, and then Lennerton grounded out to end the inning.
Top 5
Patterson faced the minimum in the fifth, striking out Frierson, popping up Kowalski, and striking out Roundy.
Bottom 5
Wells walked then stole second, and then George singled to second base advancing Wells to third. Kahalehoe flied out to short, Hopkins flied out straight up to the catcher, and Ogata flied out to right.
Top 6
It was 1, 2, 3 for the Rebels once again as Smith and Miller grouned out, and Amador struck out swinging.
Bottom 6
The Beavers also went down in order; Canham, Lissman, Barney.
Top 7
Bonnell grounded out to short, Bowman was hit by a pitch, and then Brenly doubled to right center, scoring Bowman. The Beavers went to the bullpen for Keitzman, and Frierson took him to left for another RBI. Kowalski grounded out to first, and Roundy grounded out to third to end the inning.
Bottom 7
Lennerton doubled to left field to start the inning, and then Wells grounded out second. Lennerton scored on a wild pitch, and then George and Kahalehoe flied out to center to end the inning.
Top 8
Smith struck out looking for the Rebels, then Miller flied out to right. Amador was hit by a pitch, and Bonnell flied out to center to end the inning.
Bottom 8
Chris Hopkins grounded out to second to start the inning, then Lechelt singled to short. Canham struck out for out two, then Brett Casey singled to left field. Lakowske, coming into the game for Darwin Barney, singled to short and eventually scored Lechelt after a error by the shortstop. Lennerton flied out to left to end the inning, leaving two on base.
Top 9
Bowman singled to right, Brenly singled to center, and then Frierson grounded into a double play, then Kowalski flied out to center to end the game.
