OSU vs. UNLV :: Friday Game Preview

UNLV was swept by TCU last weekend in Mountain West Confernce play, and the Beavers won 2 of 3 against Cal. The two teams square off today in the final non-conference series for both teams. The Beavers do have two more single non-conference games remaining after this, both against Portland on the April 24 and May 15.

When UNLV plays Oregon State this weekend, it will be the third season in a row that the Rebels will have played the defending National Champions. In 2005, UNLV won 1 of 3 against Cal State Fullerton, and in 2006 they won 2 of 3 against Texas.

UNLV Centerfielder Ryan Kowalski has been leading the Rebels offensively lately, batting .523 in conference play. He has 14 RBI's, 5 doubles, 9 walks, and 5 stolen bases to go along with that hefty average.

Craig Heyer for UNLV and Mike Stutes for Oregon State are the probable starters today, and here are their numbers.

Go Beavers!
