Weedend Wrap

I've been wrapped up in NCAA Basketball as well as other things this weekend as you also may have been, so that explains the light posting.

On the diamond, the No. 5 Beavers swept their three game series against San Fransisco. OSU opened on Friday with a 11-4 win behind the hot bats of Hopkins, Lissman, Canham, and others. On Saturday, the Beavers won by a large margin again, 9-2. Seven of those nine runs came in the first inning. Sunday, the Beavers capped off the sweep with a narrow 3-2 victory. Oregon State snuck in two runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. This stretches the Beavers overall win streak to nine games, and gives them an 20-3 overall record.

The Softball team went 5-1 in the Cascade Clash, only dropping their last game to Utah State by a score of 0-2. They are now 20-10, and ranked 15th in the nation. The lady Beavers are now finished with their tournaments, and will settle into a normal schedule. They have a nine game homestand starting this Saturday when they take on Utah Valley State.

In other news, OSU Heavyweight Ty Watterson took fourth at the NCAA Wrestling Championship.

I'll go into more detail on all of this weekend's happenings more tonight and tomorrow. Until then,

Go Beavers!
