Oregon State completed the sweep of Evansville yesterday, with a narrow 3-2 victory over the Purple Aces. Mike Lissman drove home Darwin Barney on a double in the bottom of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. With the win, Oregon State is on a 6 game winning streak that now includes three wins over Evansville, and three wins from the Aggie Baseball Classic last weekend.

Daniel Turpen pitched seven innings, gave up 2 runs on 6 hits, and struck out six. Jorge Reyes, Anton Maxwell, and Eddie Kunz combined to pitch two perfect innings, retiring all six Purple Aces they faced in order.

The Beavers are now 17-3 overall and will host San Francisco this week in Corvallis.

San Francisco made it to regionals of the College World Series last year. Miami ended up winning that regional, and the Hurricanes would go on to beat the Beavers in their first game of the College World Series, but the Beavers got the last laugh when they eliminated Miami from the tournament in their second elimination on their way to the CWS Championship.

San Francisco is now (9-8) on their season, and the first game of the series is set for Friday at 4:00.

Go Beavers!
