(Again, a little late)
The Beavers fought hard down the stretch, but came up just a hair short against the Bears, in a match-up we could likely see again in the first game of the Pac-10 tournament.
Cal lead by 13 at one point in the second half, but thanks to some great three point shooting by Jack McGillis, the Beavers were able to tie the game at 58 with 5:05 remaining in regulation.
The Beavers had a decent day shooting, with both field goal percentage and three point percentage in the 40-percent range. We were 15-20 (75%) from the line, which we don't see very often.
Jack McGillis was 5-9 from three point land, and oddly enough, Angelo Tsagarakis was 1-1. His only three pointer came at a crucial time, sending the game into overtime. Marcel Jones added 9 points, and Shaftenaar had 10.
The Beavers host the Washington schools this week before playing Oregon next week at MacArthur court.
Go Beavers!
