I was out of the house for much of the day yesterday, so I didn't get to listen to the baseball game or watch the basketball game live, but I was able to record both.
For the second day in a row, Oregon State rallied late in the game to stun the Bulldogs. Oregon State couldn't get a run home until the eighth inning, when they scored all seven of their runs. Yesterday, the Beavers scored 8 runs in the 8th and 9th innings combined, which gave them the win by two runs.
Joe Patterson got the start for the Beavers, and only allowed one run on five hits with two strikeouts. Freshman Jorge Reeves came on in relief and allowed two solo home runs to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead, but also struck out three batters in a 1/3 innings. He was credited with the win. Mark Grbavac finished things off, pitching a perfect 1 2/3 innings.
The final game of this series is underway right now, where Oregon State leads 2-0 in the middle of the third. We will have more on Game 3 later.
