Hal-le-lu-jah! It's Basketball Season!

Just kidding.

The Oregon State men's basketball team opens their season today, and if you have any memories left in your brain of last year's 11-21 season that included only three Pac-10 conference wins, you probably aren't excited.

But we're done talking about that.

The Beavers open the season today with an exhibition game against Warner Pacific of Portland, a team that could be the Appalachian State of college basketball. They definitely have the stats and accolades in their favor. They're ranked No. 3 in the NAIA Div. II poll that came out this week, and last year, they advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NAIA tournament.

The Knights are lead by 6-2 guard Scott O'Gallagher, who was the conference player of the year last year. He averaged 25 points a game. Also returning for Warner Pacific are Josh Jackson, who was first team all conference a year ago, and Jalonta Martin, who was newcomer of the year in 2006-2007.

The Beavers return the Traver Bros., Marcel Jones, Roeland "Shafty" Schaftenaar, Calvin Hampton, and Joey McConnell. The Beavers lost Wesley Washington, Angelo "from half court!" Tsagarakis, Sasa "no D" Cuic, Kyle Jeffers, Michael Johnson, and some others.

The biggest newcomers are C.J. Giles, a man who could change the entire team, and Michael Stovall, an athletically gifted guard from Chicago who chose Oregon State "because of the team."

Giles is ineligible until December 8 because NCAA rules require you to sit out a year after transferring. He came here from Kansas, where he was dismissed from the team for things we're not talking about anymore. Supposedly he's changed.

The Beavers' full schedule will appear in the left hand sidebar shortly, but below you will find the TV schedule. The Beavers will be on TV more than ever before, thanks to a new partnership with FSN.
