Oregon State takes on Iowa State riding three game streak

With the Civil War and everything, I don't have much time for a basketball game preview, but here it is.

Oregon State, riding a three game winning streak against USC Upstate, Idaho State, and Portland, will play Iowa State in the Pac-10/ Big-12 Hardwood Classic. Oregon State enters the game with a record of 3-2, and Iowa State comes into the game with a record of 2-3.

Seth Tarver continues to lead the team in points, with 15.4 a game. Marcel Jones is right behind him, averaging 13.6. Oregon State is shooting 40.6% from the field on the season, a number that needs to improve as we approach Pac-10 play.

Roeland Schaftenaar continues to lead the Beavers on the boards, with 7.2 a game. Marcel Jones and Seth Tarver round out the Top 3.

As I mentioned earlier, the Cyclones are 2-3. While the Beavers are coming into the game with a three game winning streak, Iowa State has lost three straight.

They Cyclone's biggest threat is Wesley Johnson, who just returned in Iowa State's last game.  He had an injury that kept him out of the first four games. He could be a threat to the Beavers tonight, as he had 18 points in his debut against Northern Iowa earlier this week.

Rashon Clark is another talented Cyclone, and he has helped to fill in for Johnson in his absense. Clark is shooting over 50% in every game so far, and is averaging just over 10 points a game.

Tip-off between the Beavers and Cyclones is scheduled for 8:02 p.m. You can catch the game on FSN. Barry Tompkins and Dan Belluomini will be doing the announcing. No Todd Mansfield.

GO BEAVERS!
