The Beavers did what they need to do to to win.
But did they lose their All-American tailback, who left the game in the second quarter as the third leading rusher in the Pac-10?

We hope the shoulder injury Yvenson suffered on this touchdown isn't serious.

He rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on nine carries before he left early in the second quarter. Matthew Sieverson, Clinton Polk, and James Rodgers put together a combined 155 yards on the ground to help support the Bernard-less offense.
And they got the job done.
Three Alexis Serna field goals in the second half gave the Beavers a large enough lead to play conservatively, and four forced turnovers by the defense in the fourth quarter helped to seal the deal.
First, it was Derrick Doggett recovering a Jeremy Stewart fumble. Then it was Tim Clark intercepting a deep ball from Tavita Pritchard on a great play. Then it was Joey LaRocque recovering a Tavita Pritchard fumble. And THEN, it was Derrick Doggett intercepting a pass from Pritchard and taking it 37 yards to the Stanford 8.
And before all that started, the Beavers blocked a field goal.
So, on this almost-Halloween weekend, we found out that the Beaver defense is scary good.
But I guess we knew that all along.
Bring on the Trojans!
GO BEAVERS!
