Morning Orange Juice

I'm going to try to get in the habit of posting quick hits in the mornings. For hopefully aparent reasons, I've decided to dub this post Morning "Orange" Juice. Now do you get it?

  • Let's start of with women's basketball, we haven't been talking about them much around here lately. They lost to the Ducks this weekend, the third and final game of this year's Civil War. Oregon State was looking to sweep the Ducks for the first time since the 1992-93 season, but it didn't happen. The Beavers won the first matchup 67-63 in Eugene on January 11, and won again on February 10 in Corvallis by a final score of 66-56.

Oregon State guard Casey Nash led all scores with 19. Freshman forward Judie Lomax added 17, and Ashley Allen scored 12. The Beavers went down by a final score of 70-63.

  • On hand for that game was a crowd of 5,127 - the largest in Gill Coliseum since 1996. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. That's eleven years.

  •

  • Moving to baseball, the Beavers got a mention in Baseball America's "Three Strikes" column as seen here on SportsIllustrated.com. A nice mention to start the year. Nice to know that people still have the Beavers on their radar even after we lost a great deal of our starters.

If you haven't read the site lately, let me get you up to date real quick:

Go Beavers!
