Blog Exchange with UDubDish

In preparation for the 1:00 PST tipoff between Oregon State and Washington, lets take a moment to welcome in Zach from UDubDish, the Washington Huskies contingent of SB Nation.

BTD: You guys went from SI-cover boys to the bottom half of the Pac-10 fairly quickly. Was Washington over rated from the beginning, or are the guys not playing to their potential. (With regards to the victory over Oregon)

UDubDish: UW got off to a quick start with a soft schedule and only one -- yeah, just one -- road game before conference play (a blowout loss to Gonzaga).

The Huskies are young, young, young and it shows on the road -- bad turnovers, poor free-throw shooting and an inability to close games, as evident by two close losses in the Bay Area.

The Dawgs were certainly overrated because they did lose all-everything Brandon Roy, but if a few of those close games go the other way, UW would be right in the middle of the conference standings.

BTD: Oregon State hasn't won at Washington since 2003. If the Beavers are able
to pull out a win, how will they do it?

UDubDish:
Eliminate the inside game of Washington, and force the Dawgs outside. There's a chance that Ryan Appleby will get hot and U-Dub will beat you there too, but the guard play has been erratic, so to get UW away from the hoop would be a good strategy.

BTD: What Washington player could surprise Oregon State the most on Saturday?

UDubDish: Look for Quincy Pondexter to go big. He's been really inconsistent -- typical of most freshman -- but has all the athleticism in the world. He'll score 20 one game and then be shutout the next. But he's a fun guy to watch. Like Stretch Arm Strong out there.

BTD: I'm curious... Where do you think the Huskies are going to finish in the Pac-10?

UDubDish: 6th-8th.

BTD: Your prediction for the game.

UDubDish: Huskies need it bad. And at home, I would like to think the Huskies can win this one. But the Beavers have known to do strange things to these Huskies. I'll say UW in a close one, 75-70
