Now that the year is 2007, our 2006 Recap is out of the way, and newborn babies will soon be born in the year of the Boar, lets look ahead at 2007. We can make all the personal goals we want, but lets talk about this site for a few minutes.
First off, I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting this endeavour so far. It's come a long ways since my early days at the Beaver Believer Blog, where I was probably lucky to get 10 hits per day. This football season has been a great ride, and I can't think of a more fitting end to the season than what the Beavers accomplished in the Sun Bowl.
As we push forward into 2007, I want to encourage you to open up and share your thoughts on Beaver Sports as well. SB Nation thrives on being a community-driven platform for fans to unite and discuss their team. I would like to see more of this happen on Building the Dam. If you're a regular reader, maybe an OSU alum, share your thoughts once and awhile. All it takes is to register for a username, and you're in. By looking around at some of the premier blogs, you will notice that they all have an expansive user community.
My goal for 2007: develop that community.
So I encourage you to create an account if you haven't already, take a look around, introduce yourself, or even drop me a line. The next time something comes up that you have an opinion on, say it. Don't be afraid. We're all Beavers. Well, most of us.
Again, I thank you for the times we've shared in '06, and I'm looking forward to an exciting '07.
Go Beavers!
